Today, I saw a YouTube ad for the novel insecticide 'Lumiderm Oniq' for seed treatment of canola for nematodes and flea beetles.
It is related to chlorantraniliprole (33 registered products in Canada). They have a common mechanism of toxicity which has not been considered.
The PANNA pesticide database for cyantraniliprole. indicates it is very understudied. There are currently 26 labels registered in the US, seemingly widely used and on a variety of crops (see usage tab), and 19 registered Cyantraniliprole products in Canada.
Many organizations have expressed concerns about it both in the US and Canada regarding endangered species, water contamination and lack of proper data to evaluated many outcomes. It is a systemic insecticides meaning it spreads to all parts of a plant. It is also
